Lex DennisLex Dennis grew up in Pittsgrove Township, New Jersey. He is a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame, holding a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish. Lex also studied for a semester at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he honed his Spanish-speaking skills and satisfied his appetite for travel. Lex returns to enFocus after a successful stint with the company in spring of 2013, as their first intern. During his last semester at Notre Dame, Lex helped enFocus pilot the company's internship program.
Prior to joining enFocus, Lex held a number of jobs varying from soccer referee, to machine shop operator, to busboy. Throughout his college career, Lex gained valuable experience in public education.In 2009, he became an Instructional Assistant (IA) with Salem County Special Services School District, a New Jersey institution dedicated to providing educational, social and practical skills to students with physical and mental disabilities. As an IA, Lex was able to help children with special needs improve skills pivotal to success.Additionally, Lex became a certified substitute teacher for the Salem County School District, where he taught grades K-8 in Southwestern New Jersey schools. Lex drew on these experiences by helping enFocus with their projects with the South Bend Community School Corporation. He was also heavily involved with enFocus' communications efforts, writing and editing their monthly newsletter. He parlayed this experience into a full-time position with enFocus, and is very eager to bring innovation and forward thinking into South Bend. |
